My philosophy
So, who am I after all these roles and transitions? It is all me. And I am not bragging; I am showing you my transformations to demonstrate a few critical points. About me, and about you: the points we have in common.
The first is especially important: progressing to each next step while keeping your previous assets. And keeping yourself, never rejecting your previous identity. There are a few others too.
Going after your dream does not equal downshifting. Sometimes sacrifice is necessary, but often it is simply assumed. My instinct is to question this assumption and find an unconventional route that allows expansion and transition without losing what you have already established.
I believe we can change our reality, often through patience and smaller shifts rather than radical change. We need time to adapt. All my life I have moved towards greater freedom: out of the office, location dependence and mindset constraints. Each transition brought me closer. Today I enjoy a freedom I could hardly have imagined 30 years ago.
Each stage of my life was a real life of its own, fully lived and often successful. I am not a theoretician or psychologist. I had skin in the game through every transition: I made mistakes, took risks and paid high prices, so you would not have to. I believe you can truly guide people only when you have walked the road they are walking now.
My clients doubt you can move from finance to HR. I did it. Leave corporate life for your own business, then return at a higher salary? I did it. Relocate and still find a good job? I did that too. Do I have to prove what is possible with my own life? Probably. Now I am proving that at 50+ you can start a new career, succeed, and travel the world alone until it becomes your playground. What is left to prove next?
From St Petersburg to Nice
Twenty-five years ago, this life sounded almost impossible.
My dream was to live in Nice, where the mountains meet the sea; to be free and independent; to guide people towards their dreams and higher potential; and to return seriously to my childhood passion for creative writing.
For a Russian girl from the outskirts of St Petersburg, it felt impossibly distant. Today it is my life: coaching people who inspire me from around the world, making my home on the French Riviera, discovering new continents and countries every year, publishing my own books and dreaming of more.
Lived experience
Much of what I know was learned with my sleeves rolled up: through successes, mistakes, risks, doubts and decisions whose consequences could not be understood in advance.
I know some of the prices involved because I have paid them myself. That does not mean I guide everyone or that every kind of problem belongs with me. It means I recognise the terrain behind many of the choices my clients face.
